Hype – The Counterfeit Faith…

Hype – The Counterfeit Faith…

What brings about faith in our life? How do we increase faith in our lives? Can we “will it” into our lives? Can we sing more worship songs, attend another service on Sunday or Wednesday? No, we can not increase our faith by these means.

Hype is the counterfeit to what real faith is… being available, surrender, not striving. Loving God, saying “yes and amen” and moving closer to His will with every breathe.

Real faith…Faith comes in one of two ways, either as a fruit of the Spirit and/or it is a gift of the Spirit.

Faith does not come out of determination, it really does come out of surrender in relationship. Since faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Faith is the evidence of a current relationship where you’re hearing from God. ~Bill Johnson

Prayer life is important and should always be on the increase. Most days prayer begins the moment eyes are opened. Most days prayer is the last thing before eyes are closed for the day. Throughout the day, more and more, prayer is front and center. Scripture is the fuel for prayer so, naturally there is more and more scripture being read on a daily basis. This opens up everything. It also shuts down more and more avenues for the enemy to traverse. Since the devil only needs a small crack to get in, he still manages, daily, to destroy what has been built.

The internal conflict that we struggle with should not be. It stops the moment we turn to Jesus Christ. Jesus did not walk around looking for win-win in any situation, He simply looked for the winning solution. Jesus did not walk around in internal conflict – we do – Jesus simply presents ways of winning that invite us into prayer to seek the win for all of our situations. He, Jesus Christ, gave us the solution to every situation in our life. Jesus unpacks those solutions for us in prayer and the Word of God, scripture.

Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. ~Romans 6:11-14 NKJB

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
